After each deadline, we will make offers to applicants until the class is full.  We will select up to 32 students into our one-year Professional Training Program (PTP).

PTP graduates may apply for matriculation into the second year of our MFA in Ensemble Based Physical Theatre or pursue advanced training along side our MFA students in a non-degree granting track.

If you are interested in being considered for the class of 2013-14 please apply online as soon as possible. Once you apply you will benefit from application deadline reminders, application status updates, and support in completing the application process. Once we receive your initial application you will be asked to submit:

All audition materials and any questions should be submitted to our Office of Admissions at admissions@dellarte.com.

Audition:

Dell'Arte International is a school of devised physical theatre, therefore we want to see your ability to make an original piece of work that includes these elements in any order you like:
  1. A song
  2. At least one phrase of 10 movements that travel from one point to another and back
  3. Two contrasting monologues
  4. Your life story

We value the transformative actor and the principles of rhythm and pace, volume and dimension, time and timing, duration and weight, line of force, contrast, interruption, and discovery.

  • Please do not stand and tell us your life story, incorporate it into your piece with the other elements
  • If you submit a video, shoot it without cuts. Camara movments are fine (zoom, pan, dolly, etc.)
  • Auditions should be no more than 5 minutes.
Blue Lake, CA Audition:
